Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know so you can use InstaPlunge like a Pro!

Read the instruction carefully. Practice on a clean toilet prior to needing it for an actual clog situation. The silicon adapter (boot) – with its extended flaps – will ensure an airtight seal when the unit is inserted, and then held at about a 45º angle downwards… prior to pressing the button (trigger). Make sure you push the silicone adapter (boot) fully into the toilet – until you can push no more – then slightly lean the WAND downwards at about a 45º angle. You will then have an airtight seal. Hold firmly with BOTH hands to avoid any “kick back”. Failure to do this could result in unpleasant splash-back! You don’t need to try and siphon any of the existing water out. A water filled environment helps the unblocking process significantly … InstaPlunge uses the water in the bowl to forcefully push the blockage out of the way with its compressed CO2. Each time you use InstaPlunge you will need to insert a single-use CO2 cartridge. Simply open the top of the unit, place the cartridge and screw the inlet cap back on. This action punctures the cylinder and the InstaPlunge is then ready for use. Easy as 1-2-3: Using both hands, insert the InstaPlunge fully into the toilet. Angle it downwards at about a 45º angle. This makes the air-tight seal. ** The silicone head’s upper flange will also help prevent splash-back. Press button (trigger) to release CO2 gas. **Expect a slight “kick-back”.

The silicon adapter (boot) – with its extended flaps – are made of easy to clean silicone. Just simply rinse the boot in the clean water after the clog is cleared and the toilet bowl is refilled with water. Repeat until clean. Dry off any excess water from the boot with toilet paper before placing it back into the Decor Stand.

The InstaPlunge automatic toilet plunger is a hero when it comes to the newer low-flow toilets. Low-flow toilet water flushes are often the root cause of poor flushes. The InstaPlunge will push right through where your low-flow toilet flush did not

No. Under normal situations – i.e. properly installed toilet systems – the InstaPlunge will not cause any harm or damage. However, if you suspect that you have a damaged toilet or damaged piping you should call a professional plumber to inspect and/or repair BEFORE using the InstaPlunge. The InstaPlunge uses a small CO2 gas cylinder. It is only 8 grams and just isn’t strong enough to break or damage the porcelain toilet, damage the wax seal between the toilet/flooring/main piping. Additionally, the 3″ piping found after the the toilet/wax seal is very large in volume and the small amount of 8g CO2 gas expands easily into this space. Most of the pressure is in the initial release – about 1/2 – 1 foot and dissipates quickly. The InstaPlunge automatic toilet plunger has been specifically designed to deliver the correct amount of pressure. It has been tested and used in millions of clogs world-wide in a wide variety of situations.

While it is a fairly rare occurrence, for stubborn clogs you may need to use more than one charge. The InstaPlunge automatic toilet plunger is extremely effective, even with very stubborn blockages. But if after using the InstaPlunge several times and the blockage is still apparent, the most likely the problem blockage with a “foreign object” … something too large that it cannot pass through the toilet “S” bend. If you have an object that is too large to pass through the toilet “S” bend, it will have to be “snaked” back outwards. It will not pass through the bends. Also, while rare, but possible, you may have a physical damage elsewhere that lies within the piping fixture or outside drain and no amount of plunging will resolve the issue.
